Ingredients:


1 box yellow cake mix with package directions & 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix with package

Cooking Instructions


Preheat oven to 350°. In a large mixing bowl, prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the box (some require vegetable oil). Next (in the same bowl) prepare the cornbread mix according to the directions on the box. Depending on which brand of mix you use, it will sometimes ask for water or milk. Mix well (it will be a little lumpy). Pour into a 9 x 13 pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. The cake is done once a toothpick or butter knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool before cutting.

Note: This is a sweet, more moist (and less-crumbly) cornbread. It's sweet enough to be a dessert cake (especially if topped with honey)--or it goes GREAT with chili.
