Hello, I'm Chickensioux (Sue). I have 21 hens (various breeds), 1 Roo, 27 ducks (3 Scovies ,2 Khakis, 4 Mandarins, 3 Runners and 10 calls, 2ringed teal,2 Cape Teal, 1 woodie), 2 turkey (1 Bourban Red Cross, 1 Blue Slate), 1 Embden, 1 Sebbie, 1 Touloose geese, and 5 pigeons.. I never thought all these birds could be so social and comical. I live in the mountains of North Carolina, go out into my backyard, sit on the porch of the chicken coop, and have my girls take their turn sitting in my lap.
I don't think I will ever be without poultry. They make me smile and bring me peace..
Oh yeah, a wonderfully patient and understanding Hubby and 2 teen boys that I am very proud of.
The coop-"Chik Inn". The duck house- "Waddelon Inn" & the Call duck house-"The Quack House". Hubby just built a restaurant for the ducks (they can get in but the dogs can't) called "Fat Duck Cafe". Menu: Entree-Gamebird feed encrusted Laying Pellets and Dessert-Scratch ala Mud.
I also have 5 dogs (Murhpy-mutt, Minga-Doberman, Mya-Aussie and Pita-mutt> Pita stands for "pain in the....ankle", Gracie-long haired chi), a parrotlet (Dill Pickle), a parakeet (Wilson), a Flemish Giant Rabbit-(Bella), Netherland Dwarf rabbit-(Charmin), 2 frogs (Yogi & BooBoo).
