MY CHICKEN FLOCK!

Hi chicken lovers out there! I'm new here, and new to the world of chickens. I live in the suburbs of San Diego, CA, but I've always loved farms and ranches. I did some research, and fell in love with pet chickens! I don't have any yet, but I just ordered 4 day-old chicks from Mypetchicken.com. I'm so excited! I got 1 Australorp, 1 Buff Orpington, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock, and 1 Easter Egger. They will arrive the day after Easter, not quite on time.

But that's ok! I'll keep you guys posted on when they arrive!
It's official! My chickies are coming on Tuesday, April 14th! I hope all my babies survive the shipping. I wonder if mypetchicken will put a packing peanut in there??? Well, I'm so excited! I can't wait!!!

THEY'RE HERE!!!!!!! So they came on time and they were all healthy and cozy in their box. They were so cute! The mailman personally delivered them to our door. The cool part is that he was so excited he carried them everywhere with him while he delivered stuff and mail! He even took them into a kinder care near my house and let all the little kids listen to them cheep!! I thought that was really cute, and i wasn't mad at all that the mailman had done that since we trust him and he's our friend. Anyway, they were all fine at first, and I would have posted much sooner (it's been 2 weeks!) but 2 of them got pasty butt and I was running all over trying to fix them. Thanks to some advice on here I was able to save them, and now they are all happy and healthy and getting feathery. (in case you're curious, the BR and BO got it. I was worried about my BR since she is the runt of them all. But she is fine now and doesn't seem like much of a runt any more!

) I will post some pics soon!
I can't seem to load pictures here. My computer won't let me. Oh well, I'll tell you about them.
Last night they just moved to their tractor outside. I was worried a raccoon would get to them, but when I came out this morning, and they were all safe and warm with there heat lamp; I was a bit worried about warmth, just because it was raining.(Well, actually sprinkling, but everything was soaked. Who would have guessed it, here at the very end of May, it's raining in the driest place in the world! (That's my opinion of San Diego.)) But I didn't need to worry about that. It was nice and cozy in there. I think they were partying all night long, because when I checked up on them, they were up and running around! Oh well, I guess they'll learn soon that they are supposed to sleep!
