Quail love short tunnels. Take a cardboard box & cut out ends. They love it.
Mirrors. They love to look at what they believe are other Quail.
Dirt baths. Eventually we went to using ground feed. Bath material we would order either was infected or had toxic chemicals in it.
Love ankle socks & bedroom shoes. Ours drags bedroom shoes around & uses as a pallet to sleep on.
As a treat they like white cake. No icing. Just a pinch because the bad protozoa can feed off the sugars.
Also like white crust off white bread but again only a pinch.
When young ours liked taking quarters out of a cup & throwing on the floor.
Games hide n seek. Young birds love hide n seek.
We tried all the conventional toys for years but just plain simple stuff they seem to like best.
One thing they really like is your attention. They love it when you play with them.
Now they do become possessive. We have one that loves baskets. He plays with baskets incessantly. One in particular is a rolly polly basket.
It's his favorite basket. No one else can touch it or he has a fit. We use it to control him if we need to move him from room to room.
Also he loves anything wicker including straw hats
Note - ALL our birds are free range with access to the house. They sleep on the ceiling fans at night over our bed.
For their safety we have power to ceiling fans cut off. Another game they like is playing ferris
wheel on the ceiling fan blades.
Hope this helps if your having hard time figuring what to do for entertaining your quail.
