These are my two house pets, Sunni and Stephen.

I have written a page on here about Sunni before. She came into my house when she was 10 weeks old due to an illness and needed some rehabilitation. That was two years ago, and she's still in here.

She has lived in my house for almost two years now. Her favorite thing in the world is to roll around on her "dust bed". An old brown dog bed that she believes is dirt. She spends a good portion of her day on that thing. She's like my little shadow, too. When she's out in the rest of the house, she follows me all over the place and loves to just be close to me. Wherever I go, she goes. Including on camping trips and hotel stays. Yes... I snuck her into a hotel room once. Shhh!

She's my sweetheart. Our household just wouldn't be the same without her.

Hanging out in my suitcase while I packed for a vacation back in June. She was probably trying to keep me from leaving her.

Spending some time outside

And this is the newest member of the family, Stephen. He is a 3 month old Kentucky Speck bantam. He came to Michigan all the way from Arkansas on August 5th. Getting him here was quite a stressful process. My boyfriend sent him to me, and he had to take him to a vet to get tested for salmonella and a few other diseases, and had to have two different health exams before he could finally be sent out. Then his shipment was delayed and the tracking was never updated, so I spent 14 hours having not the slightest idea where the poor guy even was... But he arrived safe and sound early morning on the 5th. Thank goodness.

I will be posted more pictures later on as he gets older, and as I get more. I have only had him for 4 days, so I don't have many.

Stephen is quite a little character. He loves to sit and crow almost constantly for about an hour after he wakes up in the morning, and whenever he feels the need to do it again. His favorite thing to do is lay down on my chest at night before bed. He completely passes out every time. It's so cute.

Sunni has never been much of a snuggler, so it's nice to have a tiny chicken to cuddle with.

And here are some pictures of Sunni and Stephen together. The two of them aren't too sure of each other yet, but they're getting there.

Sunni hasn't been around another chicken in almost two years, so I think it will take her a bit longer to get used to him.
