I have had a devil of a time trying to hatch Sebright eggs. I have a cockeral Randall and his 3 brides who never get clucky but lay well. I have only had one of my Light Sussex Hens Tuppence, (they are always broody) which is dainty enough to hatch one egg on 2 occasions. "Peanut" was first a very amiable young cockeral and now I have Biscuit- sex undertermined yet... However they are definitely worth the effort as they are so tiny at birth I fear losing them. Tuppy is a delightful hen- She has weathered a very bad respiratory illness and an infected eye but has bounced back after much TLC by my husband and I.
