I started off with some plans I downloaded off of the internet but it just wasnt working out. It was an A frame coop with 60 degree angles, but the 60 degrees just seemed ridiculous, too much wasted space at the top, so I decided to go with 45 degrees instead and soon I abandoned the entire plan altogether and just started doing my own thing. I added a section to the run and Im currently adding another section of run which will be a double decker. Now Im thinking about making another actual coop, I REALLY want to get some bantam easter eggers and I dont want to crowd the girls, I have 4 chickens right now with a silkie sitting on three eggs, not sure if a couple of them are going to hatch. The coop has lights and plugs, (everything has to have lights and plugs when you're an electrician), a flat panel heater which I hooked up to a thermostat and a couple of fans on a timer to move the air around when it gets hot. Originally I had wheels on it so I could move it around but it got so heavy I took the wheels off and set it on railroad ties. I put heavy stepping stones around the outside of it to keep critters from digging underneath it. I started to paint it but now Im busy making it bigger. I live in a 100 year old house that needs a ton of work so what do I do? I build the fanciest chicken coop in the neighborhood. Oh well....
