Welcome to our BYC page! Our family is new to BYC and backyard chickening as we started only in summer 2011. It has been an interesting experience thus far; raising them from day old chicks, building their housings, learning the best feed mixture our budget allows, feeling heart broken for chickens lost to predators and our mistakes. BYC is a rich source of information and there is much to learn. At this time, we have Jersey Giants, Black Copper Marans, Rhoad Island Reds, Ameraucana and 1 pet Cochin bantam, which all come from Ozbert Farms (ozbertfarms.com) in Wendell, NC.
