(My main purpose for writing this is to see how the articles work on this website. (And after buying a a whole box of silkie chicks they were all Roos. I want others to have better luck than I did) No, the spelling, grammar, and punctuation will not be accurate. These are only a few ways to tell the gender of certain chickens, that is fairly simple for beginners)

The polish chick: (disclaimer, this doesn’t always work, but it has a good chance)

The main thing you want to search for in polish chicks is their head fluff. From this photo I know that the one circled in red is a hen, and the one circled in green is a rooster. On the hen the fluff goes back and then up to where the roosters just goes straight up. Even as adults the hens have a nice little “bob” and the Roos look like a “punk rocker”

Silkie: (THIS SAME RULE CAN BE USED WITH SILKIES!)

Again the fluff on a hens head is straight then up and the Roos fluff just goes up.

Phoenix:

The one in the middle is a Phoenix roo. As chicks, the males are usually a lighter color than the females.
