Hey guys! It was recommended for me to post this so here it goes:
We utilized 4 pallets I got for free from a store off of Facebook marketplace. You can check behind business as well near there trash cans or go inside and ask. We took all of the planks off and harmed out most of the nails besides the ones in the middle and ends.we took the middle plank off the pallet from 2 sides to utilize on the bottom of the pallet. We then utilized a 2x4 for spacing of the tops ones. The bottom ones we utilized two small planks and the larger thick blank to create a barrier to stop the bedding from getting out of the bottom. For the flooring, we utilized extra 2x4s from left over wood to put between the pallets that we left the middle board to prevent chicken feet from getting stuck. The two middle pieces you removed from the two pallets on the bottom with the groove facing down over the 2x4s we put on the bottom to help with the floor. The floor we got from Menards in the discount section that is osb with a finish for easier cleaning. The lid is left over 2x4s as well. We got two cheap hinges, a lasp that turns to be able to stop our kids from trying to open it and play with them, and 1 cheap handle for the lid. We bought 2’ x 25’ galvanized poultry net for the wiring. We utilized staple gun to staple the wire down and zip ties around the middle of the lid to hold the two pieces of wire down. Utilize a hammer to hammer in the staples to secure well. The roost bar is a doll rod and a rod hanger for closets to put the rod in. We accidentally cut ours a little too short but it still works without falling out. We had to buy one 2x4x10 to complete the lid.
If you need more details, I can try to take more photos to show better how we completed this!
This created a 4x4 ft box.
