Coop cleanliness

That's great advice.
But also a warning on Kitty Litter - that it can be toxic to chickens - or any animal that eats it. Your birds will still scratch around the coop, in and under nesting areas and even on poop boards if something interests them. They might pick it up like scratch in their crops, which is deadly.
Kitty litter is designed to absorb fluids - inside your chicken it will absorb their inside fluids too. Often it has odor preventive chemicals and clumping qualities. This is not something you want your birds to consume.
