Hello all! My name is Cindy. I am brand new to raising my own chicks, so I'm sure I will have lots of questions! I grew up around chickens, but never paid them too much attention. About 6 months ago, I had visited my in-laws on their farm and realized how much I missed hearing the roosters crow. I started talking to my mother-in-law about raising chicks and we both got excited. Now, I have a chicken coop, still in the construction phase, in my back yard and 8 6week old chicks on my enclosed deck. They are currently in a playpen, but I'm hoping construction will be through this weekend. Never doing anything half way, I also got two ducks, so we are also in the process of building them a habitat. They are full grown now and are absolutely beautiful! My DH is such a patient man! He started this with me kind of grudgingly, but he has absolutely become completely invested in the whole process. He absolutely adores the ducks. He'll love the chickens as well as soon as they are in their permanent home and out of the house.
