The Griffins live on an island roughly the size of Alaska. There are mountains further inland and flat ground on the rest.
Once upon a time, there were two animals.
Griffins and Phoenixes, they lived in peace until the mighty King Flame came to power. Phoenixes attacked the Griffins in order to earn their lush pastures full of livestock and their fields full of crops. The Griffins fought them away, but half of the population died in doing it. They have kept fighting since then. There was a phrophecy that a new clan of Griffins, called the Furies would finally rally the Griffin population together and defeat the Phoenixes once and for all. But that legend has long since died down. But hopefully this legend will be true...
If not, the Griffins are toast.
The Clans

The Clans
Warriors, They are the military of the Griffins, they go out and fight.
Guardians, they stay around the borders of Griffin territory and fight Phoenixes and other evil Griffins
Scavengers, the ugly, deformed, cast out Griffins. They stay in two groups, the bad group and the nice group.
The Phoenixes have been taking over Griffin land for years. Phoenixes are bigger than Griffins despite the fairtales. Their leader is King Flame and is an exellent military strategist.
