Flubendazole Worming Dosages.

Effective article which has much needed information and discussion. An important reminder is to double the dose for Gapeworm.
For this reason, the pre-dosed feed, while convenient, may not always be effective. Makes sense now! I will be able to put my powder confidently to use. Both the oil mix and the saturation in bread method of dosing will help. The feed version didn't do much and I followed up with a different product which is much harder to use. Thank you for helping chicken owners everywhere. This has only recently become available in Australia, making it recently relevant to us.
Thanks to this article, I can effectively de worm my 3 chickens. It is a lifesaver, as I live in the USA and can't buy the flubenvet or other de-wormers specifically for chickens.

Onyx says thanks, she is so tired of the feather loss and diarrhea.
Literally the most helpfull article!:thumbsup
Thank you for the detailed article.
I also need help with the math and some advice. I'm using this paste meant to be given directly with a syringe. It contains 44 mg of Flubendazole per ml of curry paste, and the amount of paste should be measured depending on the chickens weight.

Since it's given directly to the chicken and not mixed in feed, should I still use the dosage given in the Merck's manual you link to : Flubendazole (1.43 mg/kg) for seven days ?
Is the safety margin lessened by the fact that the paste is not mixed in feed or does it change nothing ?
Thank you.

Can anyone help with the maths on this one?! This is a flubendazole solution for treating koi carp which is MUCH cheaper than the chicken version. How do I tell what percentage it is and what dosage to give my chickens who are 1x large hybrid, 1x Dorking and 2x black leghorn? Grateful for any assistance.
You can see the concentration in the info at the bottom. https://www.ntlabs.co.uk/browse-products/outdoor/koi-care/flukasol/
Thanks for the article Shad.
I had some difficultly finding flubendazole on this side of the pond but I did. As a fish de-wormer.

It comes as a 5% powder (50 mg flubendazole / g of Wormer Plus) with a small scoop to help with dosing. Merck dosage for chickens is 1.43mg/Kg of bird.
I feed a wet mash daily with free choice dry crumble in a second trough so I know how much mash my flock consumes in a day. I weighed each bird as part of their normal health checks and knew I had 60 Kg of combined bird weight. I dosed 90 mg of flubendazole into each morning mash for 7 days by thoroughly mixing the powder into the water and then adding the Flock Raiser to make the mash.
The mash was fully consumed by the end of each day.
It worked beautifully.

Effective wormers are getting difficult to get hold of in the EU and UK. They are also expensive!
I've got a 1kg box at 6% meant for pigs.
Thanks for taking the time to write this!
