Hi there! I’ve only posted a bit, I feel a bit self- conscious which I know is crazy! I have 11 various brown egg layers out in a large coop ( enough for 20+ chickens), and they are going to be 10 weeks old on Friday !
on Sunday, I picked up day-old silkies that I have in a brooder in my basement.
My question is- can I, or even, should I, try and introduce these Silkies to my larger flock? I have a large carrier that I could bring the 3 littlest out in while the others are free ranging, and I have ample room in the coop. I would like to avoid purchasing a smaller coop for them, and would like them all to free range together, but I’m new to this and don’t want to risk the lives or happiness of any of my chickens. Just wondering how I would go about introducing them, or if it’s even possible!
