Feed store) blu kote (wound protection) hydrogen peroxide (optional wound cleaner) cotton balls (wound wiper) towel (keep you chicken sturdy) MicroynAH poultry care (find this in you local feed store) gauze pads (local pharmacy)
Cleaning wounds
The first thing you need to do is clean the wound. Rap you bird up in the towel and leave the wound exposed. Wipe the wound with you cotton ball. If there fethers in the way then cut them with scissors. If you have hydrogen peroxide then put some on the wound. Let it fiz and then wipe it off with the corner of the towel. Spry your MicrocynAH on the wound. Then add the blu kote on top.
Dressing wounds
Once you have cleaned the wound get a large gauze pad (non stick) and place it gently on the wound. Once that is completed. Hold the gauze on the wound and rap your vet rap twice around your bird. Make sure the rap is not holding the wings down or raped around the legs. Through the legs is fine.
House area
If you have a dog crate it will be best. Put some of you coop bottom in the crate. Then lay a stick inside. This will be her roost. If it will be cold out side lay a blanket on top. Then take the crate along with the bird inside. Keep her away from the flock till she is fully healed. Your bird will have a scar. If it from breeding then it will look life the picture below.
