I’ll build you whatever you want, honey.” ...and here is what I wanted...

What a lovely little coop! It looks sturdy and well built.
Great coop you are one lucky lady. Your hubby is very talented. I love all the pictures, hope it's enough of a fortress to keep out all predators.
I cannot express how adorable this is. I love all the tiny details

Love your coop & story! ❤️ My goals were the same, safety & happiness for my flock & cute appeal, plus ease of cleaning & the joy of us humans hanging out comfortably with the flock often. Yes, the coop is the most wonderful "hang out spot" & kudos for Excellent work!!! Hubby's like this are Awesome! Hubby understands, the way to the woman's heart is through her chickens! 😆 ❤️ 🐔

You are so lucky! I wish my husband was that handy! I had to settle for a prefab one 😒. This is a great article, well written and gave every little detail that I thought I might want to see.

Love, love, love this coop! Looking to restart having a flock and came across your build. Unfortunately, no hubby to build it for me...but will figure something out. I love the mirror, hospital/jail and paint job. I bet you smile every time you go to see your 'girlie girls'.

The end product is very cute.

Now that it has been up and running for a while, do you find that you have a lot of mud in the run and water flowing under the coop? How are you stair stringer roosts doing? I would think the roost bars would be a bit close together and girls on lower bars may get unwelcome "mud" baths during the night!

The jail/hospital station is great. The surface is an excellent location for weighing birds and giving them health checks.

Have you ever needed to break a broody in the jail? I would think you would need a false wire floor about 5 or 6" up to really get the job done.

Overall it is a great little coop!
This is as cute a coop as I’ve ever seen. What an adventure and what a great husband you have!
My dad is building my Coop right now!!! It is going to be awesome!
I love this coop so much. I love the windows, the chandelier, the jail and hospital. I love that its built on a hill. There is nothing I don't love about this coop. Amazing job!
One of the prettiest coops I've ever seen. Your husband did a bang up job building it!

Aw...thanks! We love our girls and boys and wanted them safe and happy! Paint those walls....you'll be surprised how much it brightens up the space!!
That’s beautiful and amazingly safe. My chicken would love living in that.

Thanks! I chose that location because of the slope! The run dries out really quick after days of rain!
This coop has it all :)

Measurements would be really helpful for others who might want to make this.

The coop is 10ft X10ft with a 3ft porch. The run is 10X20. It has 8ft tall walls. I hope that helps. :)
Can appreciate your Experience with Predators...Way Too much, IMO. The glass Mirror makes me REAL Nervous...A Jail?
Great job, and great run security!
