I think I want chickens

So out of the blue one day, my wife says "I think I want chickens". I probably looked at her like she had 3 heads. Where did that come from? is what I was thinking. Yes, we are animal lovers, we have a dog, cat, turtles, fish, normal pets. Yes, in the past I have had what may be considered "exotic" pets, snakes, lizards, etc. but Chickens? Where did she hear that you could have chickens in your backyard. After she said it, I started to think about it, and it sounded like it wouldn't be that crazy of an idea. And besides, as most husbands know, "happy wife, happy life".

So I went online and looked up pet chickens and found www.backyardchickens.com. WOW, you guys are great. Not just "backyardchickens.com", but all you members that have told your stories and shown your coops.

Hi Mido! Glad to see you here. I'm somewhat a new member, but have been "lurking" here for some time. And, you are right, www.backyardchickens.com is a fantastic site. No matter what your education or experience, if you think you want to have chickens, or have chickens and want to learn more and share your questions and experience, this is the place to be. You are one step ahead of me in that I haven't yet created my Member Page, but I plan too soon. When planning my coop, I got some great ideas here, and incorporated them into mine. I'm not completely through with it, but will post pictures so as help others when it is finished. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your coop and chickens.

Haha, I have them. We just got them last week. I'm trying to write our story and show the coop that we built. I just can't figure out where I should be writing it. I can't write it all in one sitting, so where do you write the story and list it in the coop section? I'm trying it in word now in hopes I can get it up one day soon.
