Great article! I must admit, I'm always too scared to put the little babies out with the big ones that soon. They're just so teeny! But I think I might try that next time I get chicks.
Mailing list promoted this article today, so I just wanted to drop by and say that this method is tried and true!

So inspired by your article. Thank you @aart 🤗

My light Brahma babes are 3 weeks and have been out in the run since they were 1 week, doing ‘you can see, but no touching’ with the big girls.

When I’m back from the long weekend travel, I’ll add their panic doors.

Thanks for your awesome article!

It explained what to expect and how to deal with it. ?
Love this and I'm stealing that chick feeder idea. Haven't seen that one before now.
Thank you
So much useful information presented with clarity and good photos.

I just re-read it as I'm in the process of my first integration and it's becoming more than just theory.
I introduce mine at 2 weeks and with supervision let them mingle at 3 weeks for short periods of time

good article
Very useful! I may be using this at some point this year!
I've recently integrated my 4 week old pullets to the flock. They're doing amazing, and anyone could easily do it. :thumbsup
Really interesting. I learned a lot. Thanks. Great Pics!
What do you feed your mixed flock since the chicks are still on starter feed. Do you feed the hens starter as well. I have only one hen left of my original 6 with 4 new chicks. The one hen free ranges during the day and I try to put out crushed eggshells for her for a calcium boost that I don’t want the chicks to have. Any other ideas would be most appreciated. The chicks are now 3 months old and pretty “tall” so I don’t feel comfortable putting the eggshells or oysters shells in the run. There is grit. Thanks
Great article, very helpful thank you for sharing. It is time I am trying it out. We are ready for the intro of our little ones now.

Great article aart, I haven’t gotten new chicks yet... but I know it’s coming, ?. For now, I’m just working on a continuous aggravation of feather pulling by the 3 barred rocks. They are about to get their own coop and yard space...
