Mixed breed flock pros, cons, and goals

I’ve got 3 rescue hens from a poultry slaughterhouse in MN and a Craigslist hen(which I don’t regret). Sadly the slaughterhouse was the only place I can get chickens as a child(I didn’t know any better.) It was a place where my parents went and got to butcher live poultry for fresh meat and so on. This might be why I have a slight disgust with seeing blood now. But yeah, now I’m old enough to do my own thing and I just enjoy raising chickens and watching them roam my backyard. They’ve surprisingly have never encountered being hurt by any predators except one night when my siblings didn’t close the chicken coop door when I was working till night time. A Giant possum attacked my black sexlink hen right at the back by the tail. She survived and all the other chickens did as well. That was the only time a predator ever got lucky. So anyways, my chickens are mostly unknown breeds because I just picked them out from the slaughterhouse. First, the black sexlink(4-5 years old) then an orange hen with leg deformities(but soo cute and hops like a bunny and maybe 4-6 years old?idk she’s starting to slow down on eggs), a giant white hen that also consistently lays giant eggs(just started laying in ending of February, so maybe 6-8 months now?) and lastly my Craigslist hen might be a Sapphire Gem hen. Probably just turned 1 year and a few months recently. The other hens and rooster are just my father’s chickens which I also have to care for... they’re more flighty and loud but stay in the backyard... now.
