My chickens: Six Rhode Island Reds

Putting their coop together... it's going to be the condo luxury coops! lol My husband is a perfectionist and so it has to be sturdy enough to live in! :)

This is their linoleum floor... I plan on using sand as their litter with pine shavings and straw in their nesting boxes....

Got the roof on and some of the walls!!! Put a tin roof (rusted... had to pay homage to the B-52's lol) on it... plan on putting a rain barrel to collect the run off.

Here it is painted.... Faust is enjoying it! :)

Today I made the ladder out of a pallet... I get them for free and it was too easy to pass up! They already seem to like it!

It will be 4 ft by 8 ft when finished... right now we are building the nesting boxes... I'm putting in four of them...

Others in the family

Chucky is the oldest... the chicks torment him constantly when he lays down or even just walks around outside...

but he's a happy kitty :)

Sassy wants to get them but they are now as big as her so she leaves them alone... plus both cats have gotten pecked enough to know they will get them :)

Weylin is fine with the chicks... he wants to play with them but he doesn't try to hurt them...

And that leaves Faust.... she is trouble... she started out wanting to bite them, moved to wanting to herd them and then back to wanting to get them.... I can't leave her outside with them alone because she loves when they run... I'm hoping to break her of that soon!
