Thank you. I really enjoy your article .
I'm very impressed by Mountain Peep's knowledge on the subject of herbs, weeds, and flowers. I learn more with each article I read!

Let me just say that my favorite way to spoil my hard working hens after a busy spring and when those herbs resurface after a long winter is fresh cuttings in the nest. I also add cone flower for immunity and bee balm petals. The coop shavings never looked so good. The mint and lavender and oregano are top faves and lemon grass if I can find a bunch since it is not perreniel. Lemon thyme will come up perrenielly for me. Oh gosh those hens know a good fresh clean coop. Worth the effort.
Don't they eat them up pretty quick?
Lovely smelling herbs are coming your way, hens!

Love this post!
I’ve been sprinkling a few drops of Lavender oil over the bedding, and nest box.
Works for me.

The list of alternatives that you’ve given here, is great.
I can’t wait to try some of them.
