Scratch and peck, peck and scratch
Baby chicks are going to hatch
Little toes, little beaks
Fuzzy bodies, constant peeps
Huddled close, in the light
Closing now their eyes so bright
Sleep so still, have no fear
Dream of worms you chickens dear

[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Our flock of 50 includes Buffs, Black Australorps, Buttercups, Phoenix, NH Reds, Delawares, Spitzhaubens, Wyandottes, Brown Leghorns and Americaunas. Most are egg-layers, but the boys and old hens end up on the supper table. Our two white Pekin ducks are pets.
