Professor Featheringsham's House for Wayward Hens
Professor Featheringsham's House for Wayward Hens is to be the first of its kind. A place for hens who had foolishly succumbed to the follies of youth to find a new beginning far from the stains of their misspent youth. The goal of Professor Featheringsham, is that these hens will be provided with a comfortable, respectable lodging for the rest of their days. A place that will allow them a respectability and access to pursuits of a more genteel nature than those they have left behind.
Presently the building is under construction, and we will update those who have generously given donations on it's progress.
{read: we are building the coop ourselves, this is just narrative.}
Our present mission outside of building the home is to rescue a current batch of chicks, who have been heard to be en route to the notorious Peep Show known as Bad Betty's Brooder Box!
-----------------------------------------------
So, the serious.
We're playing around with having a story for our chickens, their homes, and use it to create and influence the makes we are creating for them. We like Steampunk over here, and more than just the aesthetic is the idea of imaginative storytelling through it.
Our coop will have a definite Steampunk vibe to it, and our plans are all mocked up! It's just a matter of the weather warming up, and my hubby feeling like tackling the big project.
Currently, we are expecting our first chicks ever at the end of February.
There are 5 Easter Eggers.
1 Exchequer Leghorn
1 Wellsummer
1 Black Copper Maran
In our prospective flock!
SO EXCITING!!!!
Our projects to date concerning our little flock are some signs for their brooder.
A Roost bar for the brooder, and the brooder itself!
So that's the update for now! I hope you're excited with me, and have at least chuckled a bit from it all. <3
