I just got chickens of my own this past spring!
I have 3 adult hens (pure mutts), 1 Rooster (apparently a pure Banty) and 6 of their assorted offspring. There is certainly some barred rock as well as jersey giant in those chicks!
And now 1 broody crankypants setting on 3 eggs. Er make that 2 cranky hens setting on a total of 7 eggs.
Aditionally I have a 4 yr old son and 2 finches as well as 3 cats. I live in central Oregon in the foothills of the Cascade Mtns.
