Thank you for sharing the pros/cons! We’ve never washed our eggs because we didn’t want to remove the bloom, but I always wondered what to do with the “icky” eggs. (Usually ones that got kicked out of the nest boxes and onto the coop floor.)
I have a related question - if anyone has an answer, please feel free to chime in. Do you mark the date the eggs were laid? We don’t refrigerate ours and we want to make sure we used them in the proper amount of time. If you mark the eggs with a date, what’s a safe writing utensil to use? I know I’ve seen images somewhere on this site of eggs with dates written on them. What is considered safe?
