I was a full time farmer with my dad and brother until 1989 when I decided to become a building contractor.
We farmed 2,000 acres raised hogs and cattle along with cash crops, but never had a chicken on the farm.
Last year, while installing vinyl siding for a custmer who had chickens, he asked me if I'd like some fresh eggs.
Never having fresh eggs before, my wife and I discovered we really liked them better.
So that led me to buying my first chicks this year, 6 ISA Browns, 5 Buff Orpingtons, and 3 Ameraucana's.
At first I bought just these 10 chicks, but the very next day I went back and bought 4 more....yeah, it's addicting!
