8 granny smith apples
1 cup of sugar
2 slices of lemon
Peel and cut apples into 8ths, seed.
Put in a dutch oven sized pot
Pour in sugar
Fill with water until you just see it
Cover the top of the apples with cinnamon
Boil. Use a potato masher every 15 minutes to reduce and crush the apples. It takes 30-45 minutes. If you added too much water, boil it down.
