Wow! That’s a great coop and run! I wish I had seen it before we built ours, but still may be able to incorporate a couple of your ideas. We went with a similar design. You have so much detail and great photos...thanks for sharing! We do have the same auto chicken door and although we’ve only been using it a couple of months, love it! Has it held up over time? How do you like the ceramic heater? We are in upstate NY...this is our first year with chickens and I wasn’t sure if they would need any extra warmth besides their puffy bodies fluffed together. Thanks again for all the step by step photos and all the details in descriptions. Outstanding job!

I’m sorry I’m just seeing your post now, but yes, we still have the same chicken door and still love it. We replaced the back up battery once over the years and other than having to clean and oil the hinges a couple times, has worked without a hitch over the years. I would definitely use the same door again in any future coop. Same for the ceramic heater. Will definitely use it again. We have it set so it only comes on when it’s bitter cold and just keeps the coop at or just above the freezing mark.
