I am thinking my Gwennie Henny might be a Lenny Roo?
Anybody out there familiar with Delawares that might be able to make an educated guess?

She (or maybe he) has been starting to almost-cluck from time to time for the last week and a half. No crowing, but nobody else is clucking yet...

If you need earlier pics to compare, click the link in my signature, but these are both from yesterday:

Thoughts?

Even though it's not really red yet, with a comb that size at 4 1/2 weeks I'm thinking cockerel. If its comb starts reddening up over the next few weeks, you will know for sure that you have a cockerel. I would suggest posting its pic again in about 3 weeks.

I agree, definitely too young to be positive, but that comb looks a little big. With my Delawares the other give away was the tail. The presence of barred feathers in the tail indicates male. (I thing I see some in there)
My pullet Delaware had a bigger comb than the boys for about a week, but stopped growing and never turned red. That was around 5 or 6 weeks old.
Mine's tail feathers were not that developed at that age yet.
My vote is cockerel.

Yeah, she/he seems to have a lot of markings for a pullet... Here is a pic from last week, aged 3 weeks, 6 days:

For reference, here's what mine looked like at 5/6 weeks

You can see they didn't really have tail development then, but once they started coming in, the boys had barred feathers like yours.

Are you gonna be able to keep him?

If Gwenny ends up being Lenny, there is no law that says I couldn't keep him. The neighbors might have something else to say about that though, if he is too loud, LOL! Also, with two young children, we would have to be very watchful of aggression and territorial behavior. I knows roos can be mean (my uncle had a flock of RIRs that used to literally chase people); so if she is a he, and he turns mean, he's going to be rehomed for sure! But if he stays docile and non-threatening, and doesn't make the neighbors hate us, I would be okay with keeping him around... I just hope we don't end up with two roos! From what I hear, you can't have two roos in a tiny flock like ours (5 birds) without them killing each other... So far, Gwenny is the only one I am looking at and thinking Hmmmmm though. Hoping it stays that way!!

Got some more pics today, and I am thinking more and more likely roo... The comb is looking a bit more orange today, and I'm not sure, but I think I might see the start of spurs forming? Watching the chicks interacting in the yard today, she/he seemed to be... herding (for lack of a better word)... the other chicks? Is that something roosters do: herding the ladies?

Anyway, here are some more pics from today:

Comb looks like it might be getting a bit more red?

Do I see the start of spurs developing?

I hoped to get all pullets, but I'm thinking my Gwennie might be a Lenny?

About tail feathers... all of my chicks have pretty well-developed tail feathers (to Gwenny/Lenny's left is a Buff Orpington, to the right a Black Austrolorp; they are all the same age)... but Delaware to Delaware, with the barring and such...
Hmmmm...
