My Maran started displaying unusual behavior this morning when i went to feed. She was walking similar to an egg bound hen but made this AWFUL squawking noise at regular intervals. I couldn't do much since I had to run to class but when i got home I immediately scooped her up and took her to my bathtub to isolate her.

She's also got a shiny beak, like there's clear mucus coming out from her nostrils. Not sure if it's because she just drank water though.

I'm putting on gloves and finding my animals-only bottle of lubricant to check if she's egg-bound. If anyone can help me please don't hesitate. I'll update with if there's an egg stuck in her vent.

Final update for now: Including pictures of the mucus and the squawking. Behaviorally she's eating, but she's a bit lethargic and her wings/tail are both drooping. She's making that coughing squawk noise, and she's got clear mucus coming from just her nostrils. I've isolated her totally from the flock, and she's in my bathtub with towels and some food and water.

What medications do you have? Can you take her to a vet?

We have dewormer , Epsom salts, and some other over-the-counter stuff but no poultry antibiotics because it's tightly regulated here. I can ask husband to call our poultry vet and schedule an appointment. My current theory is it's avian infectious bronchitis.
