Hi yall, I went out in the canoe to feed the ducks this evening, came across this. First of all,this snake shot out of the water & went up on the bank with this catfish...It was so funny cause our cat Boo was right there & jumped backwards & sideways at the same time LOL I couldn't believe my eyes.
Looks like the diamond back water snake maybe 4 to 5 ft long.
I ran my canoe up on the bank & got these freaking AWESOME shots. He got scared & took the catfish back out into the water. I followed out it out in the canoe & then I heard the catfish grunting under the water next to the canoe... that was wild I tell ya.
This when he was up on the bank.

We have two alligators in our 5 acre pond. Allie & Irwin. Yes, they were intentionally put there. haha.


But nice shots, Miriam! It seems everytime I see something awesome like that I never have my camera. Or it's shutter lag or dead batteries. Always something. Looks like you're lucky, though.
 
If you want a snake...come get this thing out of my coop!!!! Found a corn snake rustling around in the nest boxes. Already battling coons, really didnt need to walk in an find that too. Snakes just freak me out!!!!

Ok, so where do you live that you find that big of a snake!! Ewwww.......I would die! Of course I dont think I would have been brave enough to get into the canoe by myself as it is hehe.

I had to get way close for comfort to get those pics.I figured since he's got his mouth full I'm alright.
We live in N.E. Louisiana on the bayou if those that asked,very blessed to live here. I was sooo pumped up taking those pics, how exciting!!! I just keep my camera with me when I go out,ya never know.
Andy, I use a Kodak Easyshare Z760 6.1 megapixel. I got it for 200.00. I'm a bit obsessive with cleaning the lens.

I would love to get a better camera/zoom but have to wait for that lotto win LOL!

Found a corn snake rustling around in the nest boxes.

Lucky you!! I have a pet corn snake named Chester. He crawled into my pocket yesterday while I was watching a movie and started shedding! I got to hold his old skin while he crawled out of it, it was so awesome! I would have taken pics if I could have moved,lol.
