I had printed out an incubation chart back in April, and now I can't find the link, so I put it together here as a quick reference. Several species have special quirks (like waterfowl), so it's best to double check the specifics, but this is the general chart that I had. If you stay within the ranges, you should be fine. And of course, this may not be 100% correct, and I wouldn't know because I haven't hatched more than 5 different species so far
big_smile.png
so if something needs to be corrected, please just PM me and let me know.
Just a note, you'll find by looking at the list that most of the temps/humidities are the same for all eggs... it's just the incubation period that changes. How simple is that?

Emus:
that tells all about the ratites...
46-56 days 35-55% humidity (~40%) 96-99.5°F for forced air (~96.5°F) 3-5 days before expected hatch, decrease temp 1°F, and increase humidity 5-10%

I'm new to this, so I might be (probably am) wrong, but from what I've read, most people say to keep the temp higher than 99.5 for chickens, and stop turning day 18. and I thought the hum was supposed to be a bit lower than that! am I wrong!?! am I killing the babies?!?

I'm having a panic attack at the very thought

Temp depends on the type of bator, ie. still air or forced air. Day 18 is the last day to turn. Day 19-21 (last three days) eggs should remain untouched in the bator/hatcher with elevated humidity.

You're welcome! But it was purely selfish... now I always have a copy on hand.

The 99.5°F is for forced air incubators (with a fan).
If you have a still air (no fan) like the Little Giant (LG) you will want to bump your temps to about 101.5°F. Just a couple of degrees.
This is where a water wiggler comes in handy. If you have an indoor/outdoor thermometer with a probe, the probe can be inserted into the water wiggler (child's toy) and that temperature is "close" to the temp inside an egg. If you keep the "outdoor" (inside the wiggler) temp at 99.5°F in a still-air, you should be good. The air temps will oscillate, sometimes as much as ± 6°F, but if the wiggler temp is stable, you're good.

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

I do have it in excel.

Oooo! Do you have it posted in Excel format somewhere? If you didn't already have it in a spreadsheet of some sort, I was going to offer to copy and paste. Sounds like you already did all the hard work. What a gal!
