Rooster with red legs. Is that normal? *PICS*

Our seven month old BR roo has some red on his legs. He is healthy otherwise and the red on his legs may be normal but, I'm not sure. They do freerange on warm days but, on cold days they stay in the run and their heated coop. I do use DE in the pine shavings on the coop floor. I don't think it's leg mites because I don't see excessive lifting of his leg scales. Any ideas?

Oh, thanks. I thought maybe the DE was burning his legs. Just hormones huh. That's great.
 
Red legs is a sign of good health. I wipe the legs with VetRX to kill potential scaley leg mites and it makes the red stand out very nicely.
