My baby chick seems to not be growing

I got 3 chicks last friday for pets an easter egger, a buff orpington, and a barred rock. Sadly the barred rock doesnt seem to be growing or developing .. the other too have their wings and thier tail feathers are starting to come in but the barred rock hasnt grown a bit sad .. i dont what could be wrong .. he also sleeps alot more than the other 2 .. is he just alot younger or does she have problems... they are all pullets sad

It's quite possible that your Barred Rock could be younger than the other 2 chicks.

Does it seem to be eating and drinking normally?

I'm sure some of our other members will chime in with their ideas.

She does seem to eat and drink quite regularly .. i ground up their feed so she could eat it easier and i also gave them egg yolk cause i heard that was perfect for sick chicks ... and i think they are about the same age .. which is why i dont understand why shes not developing ... she hasnt grown a bit since we got her so i dont think age is the problem anyways .. she should have grown atleast a little bit .. right ????
 
She could just be smaller. I have two of the same breed and the same age and one is noticably smaller than the other. Check out the thread "What do you think?" to see.
 
I have a bantam chick with pasty butt who is not growing as fast as the others. He seems to be fine after I soak his heinie in warm water - he likes it, in fact. Then he does a wiggle and a giant poop. But he is growing more slowly and feathering out more slowly than the non-pasty butts.

I have a chick with the same problem!


She was 1 month old and she didnt have feathers, now shes growning feathers at 1 1/2 months old

well all of them are pullets and none bantam so i guess shes just troubled :p ... well i groud up their feed so it was smaller and she found that and that seemed to perk her right up .. im already noticing a difference in her wings .. im very excited but now shes pooping alot .. i watched them for 10 minutes and she pooped and ate and pooped and ate and pooped in the food and ate some more

she has now passed .. bless her heart she did put up quite a fight .. she never stood a chance .. awell guess its back to the pet store for 2 more chicks

I guess the last spurt of energy was the day before death energy .. happens quite often in all animals .. even humans

When one door closes another one opens but sometimes we spend too much time dwelling on the closed one we never notice the opened one!

i decided to get 3 more instead of just 2 more that way ill have 5 .. and 5 different breeds ...
