I hatched 12 chicks 3 weeks ago and I've been noticing that I have a small one. He/she came from a small egg (a bantam one, but smaller). His/her mom is a bantam and the dad is too. But he/she is 3 weeks old and she/he is about 2 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide! I call her Xtra-Bantam. I had 2 bantam hens and 1 bantam rooster. So 1 chick hatched from the cochin bantam hen and the other one from an unknown bantam hen (that is the xtra-bantam mom) The cochin one looks like a real bantam. I hatched some standard too and those are huge! I compared their size so this is what I got:
The cochin bantam is 3 sizes smaller than the standard one.
The little bantam one is about 6 sizes smaller than the standard one.
The cochin bantam is about 2-3 sizes bigger then the little one.
That is the smallest chick I've ever had! I don't know if I should seperate the 2 bantam ones because they are real small and im scared that they might get killed by the standard ones. They all hatched the same day well the little one was the first one to hatch on day 19 and the rest 20-21. I will post pics later so y'all can see what im talking about. I will post some pics of the mom's too. The dad died but I have one pic when he was little. Y'all got to see this!
