they are not apairently bearded I just learned today that beard babie are born with the beards ,they don"t just grow them,so i went and looked at my little bitty and they are right because the babies I hatched do already have they beardes

but i have sence talked to the lady I got these babies from and she says that some babies beards come in later then outher and may take anywhere from 4 to 5 month for the beards to be in.

I'll look it up but all of these babies came stright from her
i bought 4 and then she ended up wanting a roo ,I had and she sent me 4 more babies for him ,let me look up the site and I'll update with a link thanks

www.feathersandfleece.com

this is a link where I got all of these babies

Please read this add note about beards on silkies

PS. I talked with this breeder and most all of her birds are bearded ,and they have been doing white silkies for 4 generation in her family.and they say sometimes take upto 4 months for the beard to
come in ,so this is what I know about beards on silkies, and her birds are very pretty little beared cotton balls with feet and eye's but you really have to look for the eyes thanks for the intrest

the are very cold hardy, and it is fuzz and feathers and grooming them is how everyone makes them look like cotton balls but unless they are in the breeding pen they stay fluffy and pretty no matter what here's a couple pics of birds in breeding pen and mine are still fluffy they have had not baths,
in a long while like a year

The fuzz on baby chicks is called "down."

From Feathersite:
This breed was developed in the Orient, probably in Japan. The feathers don't have barbs or quills, and the birds look and feel like Persian cats! Some of the varieties are Black, Blue, Buff, Partridge, Silver-grey and White. Interesting characteristics of the breed are its 5 toes and black skin. They also have walnut combs, which should be a deep mulberry approaching black. Red comb and wattles are disqualifications. Silkie hens are among the best to use as broodies if you want to hatch your eggs out under hens. They make wonderful mothers and I've known a silkie rooster to steal a brood of very young chicks and raise them himself -- this is a very nurturing breed!

Folks, I've cleared all the chatter out of this BST ad. She has pictures of the birds she is selling in her first post for all to see, so unless you want to buy them, please refrain from commenting here, no matter what you think of the birds. Thanks for your cooperation.
