After getting into hatching eggs i found i had alot of styrofoam incubators sitting around taking up too much space so i designed this unit. It will hold 5 of the egg turners from hova-bator or little giant. The benefit of this is that you can hatch all different types of eggs and you can space them out to hatch whenever you want. we love ours. We use two as incubators and one as a hatcher. Just simply put in fixed trays. The units are 250.00 plus shipping for the wafer thermostat model. 300.00 if you want the electronic thermostat. Thanks for looking. Randy

I was wondering the same thing...

Is there a surge protector placed within the bator... or room for one?

Yes they are complete plug and play. But do not come with egg turners or trays. I actually run them for 8 hrs after i build them to ensure proper operation. the Incubator comes with 2 outlets located on the side of it, most people use two turners and make 3 hatching trays. I have 2 set up with 5 turning trays and one as a hatcher. You can use a surge protector with it if you want. The incubators come with a cd with a word program format that has complete instructions on how to set it all up. It also contains simplified instructions on how to make the fixed trays out of cage wire you probably already have laying around the house. Thanks, and feel free to ask any questions. Randy and Betsy

They are made of 3/4 inch plywood. Has a 250 watt heating element. wafer or electronic thermostat.

How does a hatching tray work exactly? I guess I am confused how one unit can hatch and have eggs at different stages? Wouldn't the humidity be too high then for the rest of the eggs?

Do they sell hatching trays? My building skills are just terrible! Where are you located?

I need to get something better than the styro bators, since I stink at hatching, need something easy and idiot proof, LOL

most people use a happy medium when it comes to hatching eggs. humidity while incubating we normally keep ours in the 70's for a hygrometer even through hatching. some people think that you should change it all through the process but we dont. we have between 90% to 98% hatch rate with our method.
