Does a RIR/NHR roo x White Leghorn give you sex-link chicks or mutts?

I think the subject pretty much sums up my question. Can you get sex-link chicks from breeding RIR or NHR roos with a White Leghorn hen? Or with they just be mixed? Are they a good mix? Thanks

A first cross between a RIR male on a White Leghorn female does not usually give sex linked offspring. I imagine the females would be good layers.

While Google searching for answers I found a few pictures of the crosses. I didn't know if they were red sex links or if they even had a name. They were red and white mixed feathers. Looked kind of like a red star.

Some of the production red types have been made out of using RIR X Rhode Island White they are red & white. the females being mostly red with some white& the males, I believe are white with some red.

A sexlink for rate of feather growth can be done using White Leghorn males on RIR females. If you do a search on sex links by feather you will probably find pictures showin the difference between males & females.

They would be a sort of production red, but I think you need to cross with a white rock (and maybe a few other breeds) to get a true red sex-link, where the hens are red, roos are white. It would be a good cross for a dual purpose bird.

Lets say you where to use a RIR rooster over a White Leghorn hen.
Is it the young roosters from there hatch that will take after the leghorn and have the (K+) gene?
