I have noticed there are many folks starting out with chickens that want feed them organically. They often post at BYC looking for good organic feed sources, especially sources local to them. Even on the internet, most of the lists only seem to have sources for one region of the country, or just a handful of companies. Feed stores don't always have their own websites, or have any organic chicken feed listed, making online searches for local suppliers difficult.

I am trying to build a comprehensive list of retailers and mills, as well as distributors. I have gleaned some of the listings from older threads here at BYC as well as a few regional databases.

If you have a favorite feed store that keeps organic feed in stock, please let me know, and I will add it to the list. Please include as much of the contact info as possible, as well as the brand they stock, if you know it. Or if you have more contact info to add to one I already listed, please PM me or post it here.

Thanks for all the help!

Talmage Farm Agway. Agway is a chain and I don't know if all of them carry it, but it's called Nature Smart which is a generic brand made by Agway. It costs $25 for a 50 lb bag. The address is; 1122 Osborne Ave Riverhead, NY 11901-5207 - (631) 727-3100
Here is a link to the page on their website which lists all the feed they sell. The organic feed is on the bottom of the list; http://www.talmagefarm.com/index.php?Itemid=57&id=34&option=com_content&task=view
