2 Langshan chicks, a bit over 8 weeks old.
Probably not old enough yet to tell....
I'm thinking the Black is a Roo...but, the Blue (Magic) was hopeing not....

Now that a Langshan breeder has spoken, I must give in.
2 Roosters it is...darn it.

They feather out faster? hmm... I know they've been snacking on some game bird food on occasion (accidental though as its for the Serama's, just get the containers messed up once in awhile) They've had zucchini and cottage cheese as treats...but, its mostly the medicated chick food.

Got the Dad free, but hens came from Ideal... It is cold up here in Maine...horses water buckets outside were frozen this morning, so maybe the lil ones are just gearing up? lol
 
It could be the increased protein, but I'm banking on the Ideal hatchery blood. Hatchery birds tend to feather in faster than exhibition birds.

He's a whole day younger, lol.
I like him enough to name him already.
Although the lil black should have Daddy's blue gene too, and he's much more laid back than Magic is.
I'll find out for sure in about 7 mos or so...​
