I've found someone closeby who raises milk goats and sells raw milk. What all can I make from raw goats milk? Cheese and??? Any recipes/instructions or links greatly appreciated.

goat milk soap is wonderful!

and goat milk butter is really good, too. I'm going to get a milk goat this year just to make our own cheese, butter, and soap.

There is a book called 'goats produce too' tons of info on cheese, ice cream, soap, butter. I will try to find my copy and get the author name.

Kim_NC if you have an interest in making Cheve type I have a resource for the culture and it makes a great cheese. Super easy and will be done overnight in set-up time for curd and 6-8 hours drain time next day. I've been making it for years and very yummy

Kim_NC Here is the site that I have getting my supplies from for years. Her book is my bible on cheese/yogurt making and very informative. The Cheve culture is 5 package for $5.95 and keeps for a long time in the freezer. One gallon of goat of milk makes about 1 1/2# - 2# of cheese for me.

Good Luck - Sandee

Sandee, Thanks! I've been on that site...just no idea what to buy at the time. LOL. I'll start with the Cheve culture. Nice to know it freezes well - thanks for the tip! Kim
