I am searching for poultry leg bands. Need to be several sizes as I want to track them from chicks to adults. I found some tiny elastics for newly hatched chicks on ebay and they arrived last week, but don't think they will fit very long.

McMurray sells them but you will probably pay an arm and a leg for them

What do you search for to find them on ebay? I am having trouble finding larger (teenager/adult) sizes on ebay.

I guess for me the solution was two words: Zip Ties

I've been wanting to keep track on who's who in my Wyandottes for a long time now, and several people have mentioned zip ties. They're very cheap, come in many colors, and fit well for pullets or cockerels outside the brooder. Now for chicks that's another story - I was thinking of just marking them with something nontoxic.

I see bands on eBay but I don't understand the size/numbers. There are small bands listed as sizes 2, 3, and 4. Any thoughts? I just received 10 beautiful Maran eggs and I'd really like to band the chicks so I know who is from which egg.
