I've heard of so many methods of sexing baby chicks; some don't work and some possibly work. This one I haven't heard of and might try it out to see what the results are:

Anyone else ever hear about this method? I want to try it!

I haven't tried that BUT I did try something similar. I was told several years ago that within the first week, if you hold the chick in your hand, laying on it's back, the girls will lay still and the boys will kick up a storm! So far, so good here..a few that were wrong, but out of 8 chicks, I picked 1 roo and 7 girls! I have babies that just hatched 3 weeks ago so I did it and sure enough, 1 boy, 1 girl!

well it proved what i had already figured with my bantam cochin crosses by feather sexing them-all 3 are pullets. the 2 bantam favs were a little squirmy but i still think they are cockerels.

I tried it on my chick, Ivory, whom I hope is a girl (if she's a rooster then I can't keep her.

We have too many roosters already!) So far it looks like I may be lucky! I tried this method on her and she just hung there with her feet sticking out.

And how do you tell the gender by the feathers? She already has her wing feathers coming in.

And her comb is still really small, which gives me more hope that's she will be a pullet.

I tried this very method some years ago. I wanted just Barred Rock pullets, but all the feed store had was straight run.

So I did their entire box of chicks looking for the ones that let their legs hang down just like it says on the site linked above. Chose twelve danglers. Separated them all then did them again just to be sure I wasn't mistaken.

Two months later I was certain of the gender of all twelve birds.

Six pullets.
Six cockerels.
