INTRODUCING: Tiny Tim!

46457_tiny_tim.jpg

This is the little guy I picked up today...he just had his bath and is reclining in his new digs. He was hatched in a classroom in Chicago with one leg straight out and one curled under. Someone took pity on him and had his leg amputated. He resided in a shelter in IL until he started to crow and the neighbors were not happy. Now he will live out his life here with me on my farm that seems to be catering to "Special Needs" critters! Terri O

Well, Tim of off to bed...he is spending the night in my house seeing as he is still a bit damp from his bath. Tomorrow if it is nice (and it is supposed to snow) was supposed to be his introduction to the other leg/footless birds' pen. I guess he will be spending a few extra days inside with me! (I am SO sad) LOL--I love it! Thanks for your nice comments...I hope he lasts a good long time! Terri O

Yes he kind of hops with his wing as balance. It was very dirty from being on newspaper and his bum was dirty too so that is why he got a bath. I think I will put him in deep shavings tomorrow and see if he likes that. He seemed to enjoy being on a towel on the floor for a while. He stands and then gets tired and lies down. I am chatting with some others that have handicapped birds to see what else I can do for him to make him comfy. He is sleeping on mound of shredded paper right now and seems OK. Terri O
