I'll be setting 66+ eggs on April 2nd for a 23/24th hatch.

I feel so blessed to have these eggs.

Two Dozen from Peachick... very blue eggs and she got some of her stock from Jean... great birds.

Two Dozen from Wayne Meredith... LARGE BIRDS and one of the developers of this variety/breed.

18+ from Pasofinofarm, (Melissa) I have 5 hens in my flock from her eggs.

All ship on MONDAY!!!! so if I get out the bators Monday they should be ready for them before Friday!

Then I'll cram as many of my own eggs in as I can into the two bators. My BW roo that I got from Jean and the hens I hatched from Melissa's eggs last year.

I'm sure I'll get a goodly number of wheaten chicks out of this hatch but I'm looking for another spectacular Blue Wheaten roo from Wayne or Melissa's eggs... along with as many BW pullets as possible.

Anyone who would like to set eggs with us on Good Friday, you are welcome to hatch along and we'll compare notes.

Setting eggs on Good Friday!

I am gonna sit this one out, but I will hatch vicariously through you!

SO jealous of you people who got blue eggs from peachick. . .

Good luck on that though! Looks like you're going to have quite the project and sorting of bloodlines in the end.

Well it's like Jean once said, You have to hatch out 30 chicks to get one spectacular bird.

So, I'm hoping for at least a few great looking birds out of this hatch.

The five I got from Melissa's eggs last year are really great birds and three of them are really fantastic looking and one Blue wheaten that I think is SQ.

The roo I got from Jean is fabulous and I have a 12 week old BW roo that is still developing, we'll see how he looks in another 8 weeks when I'll either decide he stays or goes.

I wasn't going to get out the bators until Monday...now maybe I'll get them out tomorrow afternoon and get them up to speed so they are stable when I put in the eggs.

Wow-good hatching vibes are being sent your way. How on earth do you grow out so many in suburbia?
I'm on day 8 incubating 8 of Jean's BBS, and despite getting lost in the mail, all are developing

Wonderful! I had a pair of blues from her once and the roo grew to be quite large.

Best of luck to you, Mahonri. I have one blue wheaten cockerel from Kathy (halo) and I think hers originally came from Jean. He's a good size boy for less than seven weeks old, I think. I was actually a bit surprised at how large he is, expecting the lean Ameraucana frame like I see in my girls. Could be that he's not any larger than normal, but I don't recall Scout being this large at this age (he was my black rooster from Cree and Rivergait).

Thanks Cyn, I saw the pic of your boy on the Ameraucana Thread. He is huge... but you don't grow birds any other way do you?

The 2nd roo I got from Jean is not that large (hatched out of an egg on New Years), but so far he is a looker so I'm waiting to see if he gets to go into the coop with his sibling roo.

One of these days, when my numbers are lower, I may just have to get some wheaten/BW girls for Levi, as long as he stays calm and easygoing. Crossing fingers on that one! Hope you have an awesome hatch!

Well, I've got my hygrometers and thermometers out and ready to go. I should just go ahead and put new batteries in them now cause I don't want them to go out during incubation.

Perhaps the bators and turners will be set up before the end of the day.
