I need a project buddy, so I am offering this one batch of eggs to someone who wants to work with me. I am trying to create a lavender wheaten ameraucana. These eggs are from my wheaten rooster over my lavender hens. The chicks will hatch out as split lavender wheatens and will feather out like a brown-red ameraucana (picture link from Ameraucana Breeders Club). Breeding this line back together will result in 56% black, 19% wheaten, 19% lavender, 6% lavender wheaten. The eggs are a minty green and through selective breeding I hope that the next generation will be much bluer. This is the only batch I am offering.

Here is a link to a British fowl that may be a lavender wheaten . The color is slightly off but it gives you a rough idea of what it should look like.

Here are the parents of these eggs. They have been together for about 2 months now.
This is the wheaten roo I used. I bought him from Jean (pips&peeps).

Here is one of the pullets I used from Harry (Shaffer), the other looks the same.

Here are two of them together...plus a couple nosey wheaten pullets.

I have a fresh batch of split lavender wheaten chicks hatching on Saturday. I will post pictures of them as soon as I can.

sorry it looks like their gallery is down right now. Here is the link to the actual website. Hopefully they have it back up and running before the auction is over.

Wish I wasn't such a beginner, I don't know enough to take on anything more complicated then plain Lavender! Bet they will be beeuutiifulll though.

Just wanted to wish you the best with your project. I'd volunteer but I'm having enough problems just trying to get the Wheatens and Blue Wheatens to where they need to be. That variety in and of itself still needs a lot of work.

God Bless,

Oh... your timing if awful. I just filled up my incubator, or else my name would be on that bidding list!...
Why is this the only batch you'll be offering?

I've hatched all I need to hatch this spring and I am going to combine my breeding flocks so they can all free range this summer. I will probably set them back up into breeding pens in the fall.

I just got a pretty Wheaten pullet from Jean to cross with my Lavender roo for this very same project. I sure wish I had an empty bator. Good luck to you, and I hope you'll keep everyone updated on your progress.
