I'm through my hatching egg list for Olive Eggers, so thought I'd offer some up for auction before taking more names for my list.
These are first generation layers of medium olive-green eggs, BRED BACK to my French Black Copper Marans rooster. Eggs from pullets out of this hatch should be very dark green, to "coppery olive green" such as the auction pic.
I have three EE girls that I use for these, all of them are blue. Most folks are hatching blacks with a few blues. I have also hatched one brown girl. All are very pretty! Here are the three hens:
This girl is a blue with light copper hackle feathering, and her name is Shilo (she broke her beak just before this pic!):
Another pic of Shilo - she's got really pretty feathering:
This is Sweetie - she's super, super friendly & talkative...follows me around in the pen, chatting the whole time:
Here is Princess - she's just beautiful, a bit smaller, but lays huge eggs for her size. She is the only one that is out of a purebred Wheaten Penedesenca hen and purebred Blue Ameraucana roo (the other two are out of a silver-colored EE hen and my Marans roo):
Here's Duke, my Marans roo:
Your hatching eggs will look like this medium olive - you can imagine how nice & dark the eggs will be after being bred back to a good Marans roo:
PayPal only auction. Payment due by noon on 4/19; eggs to ship out Monday, 4/19.
I do my very best with collecting, storing, and packaging my hatching eggs, but I cannot guarantee hatch results. Most folks are getting very good hatches from my Olive Eggers!!
Here are several eggs laid by the same hen - this pic was taken out in the late afternoon sunlight, as was the auction pic, giving the eggs a "golden" glow:
