Just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of our Mandarin (and eventually white call ducks) aviary. We lost our drake to a predator and have another one scheduled to be here tomorrow. We have to figure out how we're going to catch our hen, as she has been free ranging ever since hubby accidentally let them out in Aug. They both stayed around our house in our pond until breeding season got here and then they disappeared. She came back 2 wks ago, but he hasn't, so I ordered another one. I'm on a waiting list for some white calls and they'll go in the aviary with the mandies. I'll eventually landscape it and will post more pics when it's done.

Here are a couple of pics with Max and Mandie. I originally intended to landscape it, but I think I've decided that a few plants around it will have to do. The last thing I have time to do is weed landscaping. This is MUCH easier!!

Thanks guys!! Thank God hubby is a great handy man with a great imagination. I couldn't afford to hire someone with all the projects and "honey dos" i'm constantly coming up with!!

What kind of plants are those in the corner? Are you leaving them in the pots or are you putting them in the ground? I am looking for something similar that the ducks won't eat.

I have no idea. I got them today at one of the local nurseries. I know absolutely NOTHING about plants. I had something similar to these last year and a couple of the rouens messed it up, so I'm assuming it's not poisonous. I'll probably just buy some nicer pots and transplant them in those. i'm gonna do some landscaping around the outside of the aviary.
