The coop that I had to put off from last year due to vet bills is now under way.

Here is the current coop where I am cramming 12 chickens. Poor babies.

Here is the beginnings of the expanded run. We are more than doubling the run size.

I am looking for new hens to go into all the extra room I am going to have. I was hoping for a few of Peachick's blue egg layers, but she does not have any chicks right now. I hope she has some by summer.

The expanded fencing is up except that we need to move the old hen house to the new location. We cannot seem to get 4 people at our house at the same time to help move it.

The old run is down.

My DH is helping Eric, who we are paying to build the new chicken palace (I highly recommend him for any handyman work).

AND, I went and picked up the new chicks to help fill all the extra room I am going to have! Two leghorns, three EE's, and one production red.

The walls will be started Thursday.

Here is some of the new residents. They tickle.

The finished floor. We are expecting walls to be done today so I can paint them over the weekend. We have not decided on the colors yet. I decided I could not pick the colors until I actually see the coop completed so we are painting it with white primer.

The chicks that are waiting to move in.

Yes! More space means more chickens!
Now if I could only convince my wife of that.....

It's looking good, and your little ones will enjoy it, I am sure!
